Atelier Tsumamizaiku
Atelier Tsumamizaiku ist die erste umfassende deutschsprachige Website über das japanische Kunsthandwerk – Tsumamizaiku. Tsumamizaiku (auch Tsumami-zaiku) bedeutet übersetzt „Kunsthandwerk des Textilfaltens“. Es ist sozusagen das Origami der Textilien.
Auf der Website erhaltet ihr einen umfassenden Überblick zur Geschichte, Technik, Materialien und einen Blog zu meinen Projekten und persönlichen Erfahrungen mit dem Kunsthandwerk sowie Einblicke in die japanische Kultur.
Hinter der Website „Atelier Tsumamizaiku“ stehe ich, Josephine, Kunsthistorikerin für Ostasien, Japanliebhaberin und leidenschaftliche Tsumamizaiku-Künstlerin. In 2018 habe ich das japanische Kunsthandwerk Tsumamizaiku in Japan für mich entdeckt und bin seitdem faziniert von den unzähligen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten dieser traditionellen Kunstform. Für meinen Tsumamizaiku-Schmuck nutze ich größtenteils eine Kombination aus den japanischen Textilien chirimen und habutae.
Neben dem Blog poste ich Storys, Reels und Bildbeiträge über meine Tsumamizaiku-Accessoires auf Instagram-Account in englischer und japanischer Sprache. Auf Pinterest werden saisonale Blumen mit Tsumamizaiku gezeigt.

Hello, my name is Josephine and I am from Germany. I am the founder of Atelier Tsumamizaiku.
I create unique flower accessories made of fabric by using the traditional Japanese craftsman technique called Tsumamizaiku. In 2018 I started to make accessories out of curiosity. In a short period of time I fell in love with the fabric, technique and history of this traditional Japanese craft. As a creative person and Japan lover myself I enjoy the uncountable/ endless possibilities of making beautiful designs.
My blog is written for an German speaking audience. But even if you are not capable of understanding German you are cordially invited to have a look at pictures of my latest or current projects. And if you do understand German you can learn more about the Japanese technique of Tsumamizaiku and get to know the creator behind the blog better.
